OCA decides to introduce players grading system

Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) today decided to introduce grading system for state first-class players, on the line of BCCI, in it`s annual general meeting held at the OCA Conference Hall, Barabati Stadium, Cuttack today. The scheme will be implemented after getting green signal from the BCCI, OCA secretary told mediapersons today.

The AGM approved that state first-class cricketes retiring from the the year 2011 would be given pension five years. The budget outlay of OCA was estimated at Rs 48,55,96,500 in the meeting.

Showing commendable gesture for other sports, OCA presented cash awards to international medal winners on the occasion. Gold medallists of Cape Town Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship (Minati Das, Pramila Kirsani, Subhasmita Mohanty and Achyutananda Sahoo) were given Rs 50,000 each, whie silver medallist of Asian Rowing Championship (Amusana Devi) was provided Rs 25,000.
